This is the homepage for the LSE CPNSS Wittgenstein Reading Group. We have been reading the Philosophical Investigations (PI)

The links above are to sections of the text of PI, with elucidation, and criticism. The text that appears in the elucidation and criticism pages is highlighted to mark three different voices:

Normal text is Wittgenstein1 - our narrator.

Text in red is the interlocutor, who expresses unacceptable philosophical views.

Text in purple is Wittgenstein2, who raises reasonable points from a non-partisan standpoint, to which Wittgenstein 1 responds.

(Needless to say, there is controversy concerning both how many voices there are, and which passages are which voices.)

Our emphasis, additional to Wittgenstein's, is in bold.

There are also one or two short critical essays. The links are on the left.

If you would like to contribute your own alternative elucidation, and your own criticisms, please email us. We will aim to add some of these to the web pages.
